Are there any other insights and “words of wisdom” for single parents to be their best?

Regardless of how you became a single parent raising your child or children, I encourage you to stay positive, knowing that tomorrow is a new day.

Living in the past with an unforgiving heart does not bring any good to you or your present situation. The key is to learn from the past and move on with your life, directing your attention to providing for your needs as well as the needs of your child or children.

Is there anyone that you need to forgive? Be honest.

Take a moment, right now, and write the names of those people who you still need to forgive. Look at your list of names and for each person, say aloud, “I forgive you for…”

This may be an emotional experience for you. But rest assured, it is freeing to release negative energy.

On your list of those you need to forgive, is your name on the list?

The reason I ask this question is because some people are still upset with themselves for choices they made in the past. Before you can truly forgive someone else, you must first be able to forgive yourself.

It states in the Bible, “Love thy neighbor as thy self.” So if we don’t truly love and accept ourselves, the good, the bad and the ugly, how can we really love, accept and forgive others with their short-comings?

By being committed to no longer being held captive to our past, it’s time to gain clarity on our desired life today.

5 Questions for Single Parents to Enhance their Life:

  1. What lessons have you learned from the past that will help you be your best today?
  2. What do you desire to experience in your life? Be specific.
  3. What can you do to ensure that your child or children are fully supported in being their best?
  4. What are the characteristics of your ideal spouse?
  5. What can you do to ensure that you are taking care of yourself? Note: In order for you to give 100% to your children, loved ones, job and etc., you must first replenish your spirit, mind and body so you have enough energy to contribute to others.

Do give yourself the gift of answering these 5 questions because they will help you gain more clarity for living your ideal life.
