I think in order for people to demonstrate this type of love in their lives, they have to meditate on the scripture and hold it near and dear to their hearts. It's so easy to lose sight of "patience", "kindness", "no record of wrong doing" when you experience trouble in your marriage and we have to be deliberate in holding ourselves accountable for demonstrating true "love" as God describes in 1 Cor. 13. One thing that has been a blessing to my marriage and truly has held me accountable in demonstrating love to my husband in the "good" and the "bad" times, is the Love Dare Journal. If you've seen the movie, Fire Proof, that journal was recommended to the husband that was facing divorce and it truly blessed his marriage. It is supposed to be a 40 day plan; however, I can tell you that it's longer than 40 days and it has truly challenged me to examine myself in my marriage and how I am truly demonstrating love towards my husband.
