My husband and I do this. We have two children and it's great to be accessible to them and to each other on our own schedule. We work together, make money together and increase our leadership skills by making essential decisions about family and business every day. We have the benefit of scheduling work around our family instead of the other way around. It's nice to have the flexibility and I wish it for everyone.<br><br>Even if a family cannot start a full-time business together, a part-time venture can increase the family income, strengthen ties and create new business opportunities as time passes. A part-time venture can also lead to a full-time business for the entire family or for some of the children who decide to carry on the family legacy.<br><br>These days, it's riskier than ever to rely on a traditional job for 100% of family financial security.
