A few weeks ago, we were all getting ready for Thanksgiving!
Do you remember the excitement?
How much do you enjoy Thanksgiving?
News reports indicate that the busiest time of the year for travel is during Thanksgiving!
And why is this?
It’s because Thanksgiving is the time when many families and friends come together with our loved ones for a special dinner.
In many homes, a Thanksgiving tradition is going around the table having everyone share what they are thankful for.
What I love about Thanksgiving is that everyone slows down enough to spend time with their family and friends as we share what we are grateful for.
Gratitude is such a wonderful way to experience the most of life because by being grateful, your total perspective transforms.
So how do we keep the “spirit of Thanksgiving” an everyday experience rather then just a once-a-year event?
Our family created a “BLESSINGS BOARD” and placed it on a wall in our kitchen.
Everyday, each family member has the opportunity to write his or her blessings on the “BLESSINGS BOARD.”
This allows all of us to focus on God’s blessings and recognize things that happen each day for which we are grateful.
Give yourself the gift of creating a “BLESSINGS BOARD” for your family!
To create a “BLESSINGS BOARD” today, just get a poster board, make a column for each family member and put that person’s name at the top of their column.
Share with your family that the purpose of the “BLESSINGS BOARD” is for everyone to recognize things that happen each day for which you are grateful.
Trust me, this “BLESSINGS BOARD” will have a profound difference in your family as it has in my family.
Although you are not eating “Thanksgiving” dinner everyday, you and your family can still share your daily blessings together during each dinner.
This will definitely keep the “spirit of Thanksgiving” alive!
